"So there is no urgency for formation of an alliance," he told reporters here.
The TMC-led alliance or the one in which TMC is a constituent will emerge victorious and form the government in Tamil Nadu," he claimed adding that the party will announce its stand on alliance in mid-March.
Responding to a query on his intention to contest in the coming assembly polls, he told reporters: "Contesting in the election is not a big deal, but we have to provide seats to the senior party leaders, experienced members, women members and SC/ST cadres."
Vasan has already visited 152 constituencies and by the second week of March he would complete his tour, following which he would take a decision for alliance.

He requested those fasting for implementation of the Avinashi-Athikadavu scheme to withdraw theirprotest and sought the central and state governments to sanction sufficient funds for implementation of the scheme and start work immediately.
On GAIL issue, he welcomed the state government's move to file review plea against the Supreme Court decision on alignment of GAIL pipeline in the state and asked the Centre to order laying of pipelines along National Highway Road margin rather than causing damage to farmers' lands.
