Haryana government today said that alleged land scams of the previous Congress regime in the State will be probed in a fair manner and there will be no witch-hunting.
Finance Minister Abhimanyu assured the House that the Government will probe every single case in a fair manner and with full responsibility by carrying out in depth investigation wherever any wrong doing has been done which comes to its notice.
He was responding to a supplementary question asked by Haryana Janhit Congress chief Kuldeep Bishnoi during Question Hour in the ongoing monsoon session of the state assembly here.
Bishnoi had sought to know if BJP will keep its poll promises made before last year's assembly polls to probe the alleged land scams of the previous government.
"How much land was released during the last ten years once the acquisition process had started. It was your (BJP's) promise to inquire into land scams of the previous Congress regime, what is the status now," Bishnoi sought to know from the treasury benches.
To this, Abhimanyu replied, "already, the matter we have found fit for probe we have initiated action in these. I will request Kuldeep Singh Bishnoi and other members that if they have more information about any wrong doing of the previous regime, they must bring the same to the government's notice."

The minister said the government is committed to fair probe. "There will be no witch hunting...We are not going to act out of political vendetta. Anyone found guilty will be dealt as per law. We remain firm to set the system right,"
Bishnoi offered his full help to the government, stating the land scams must be probed and guilty brought to book.
Notably, the Haryana Cabinet last month decided to expand area of inquiry of the S N Dhingra Commission, which has been entrusted to inquire into issuing of licences to develop commercial colonies in Sector 83 of Gurgaon during the previous regime.
It now covers licences issued in four villages of district Gurgaon, namely Sihi, Sikohpur, Kherki Daula and Sikanderpur Bada.
