NOIDA land scam: High Court seeks UP, CBI's response

The Allahabad High Court has asked the Uttar Pradesh government, CBI and some other respondents to file their reply within three weeks on a petition challenging SIT's closure report into the alleged Noida plot allotment scam, in which former minister Babu Singh Kushwaha is an accused.
Lucknow bench of the court comprising justices Amreshwar Pratap Sahi and Attau Rahman Masoodi gave the direction yesterday on a PIL of a local lawyer who wanted a CBI probe into the case.
Seven FIRs were lodged in this matter this year by the SIT against Kushwaha and some other persons including some government officials.

Citing FIRs, petitioner's counsel Ashok Pandey said that several plots of NOIDA given for industrial purpose had been allotted to some private builders at a very "low price" changing it's land use and leading to the alleged multi-crore scam.
The SIT had conducted a probe into the case and filed it's report before concerned CBI court here, concluding no such offence was committed as alleged and gave a clean chit to all concerned persons, Pandey claimed.
UP, CBI and others shall file counter affidavit with in three weeks, the court ordered, directing to list this matter immediately thereafter.
