Referring to the October 30, 2008 serial bomb blasts in Guwahati, Angamathu at a press meet here said "There is no provision in both the Assam and central government rules to provide jobs to the extremist affected families."
"There is also a Supreme Court order rejecting job prayers in such instances stating the next of kin (NOK) and the injured can only receive compensation," Angamathu said.
"I had a meeting with all the affected families and clarified to them on the job issue. They have understood. Some of them wanted old age and widow's pension, Indira Awaaz Yojana houses, admission in Kendriya Vidyalaya schools and bank loans. We have assured them of help," Angamathu said.
