The nominations of 30 candidates have been found valid for ongoing Municipal polls in Leh district of Jammu and Kashmir, an official spokesman said Wednesday.
On the day of scrutiny of nomination papers for Leh Municipal Committee, nominations of 30 candidates were found valid, he said.
The nomination paper of Stanzin Otsal, Independent candidate from Ward number 9 has been found valid, he added.
General Observer Sanjay Vashist, and Expenditure Observer Javeed Maqbool Khanday were present during the scrutiny of nomination papers, the spokesman said.
Meanwhile, as per the notice issued by the District Election Officer Leh, it is informed to all the political parties concerned and general electors of Municipal Committee, Leh, that any issues, complaints related to the ongoing elections process shall approach to the observers at the office and station set up at Karakoram guest house, near KGB Airport, Leh.
According to the notification, the last date for withdrawal of candidature is September 28.
The date on which a poll, if necessary, shall be taken from 7 am to 2 pm on October 8, it said, adding that the counting would be done on October 20 and the election shall be completed before October 27.
