Non-basmati prices slide on muted demand

Non-basmati rice prices eased by upto Rs 100 per quintal at the wholesale grains market today owing to slackened demand.
However, other grains moved in a narrow range on little doing.
Traders said sluggish demand against sufficient stocks position kept pressure on non-basmati rice prices.
In the national capital, rice permal raw and wand declined by Rs 25 each to Rs 1,850-1,900 and Rs 2,050-2,100 per quintal respectively. Sela and IR-8 also eased by Rs 100 each to Rs 2,200-2,300 and Rs 1,600-1,620 per quintal, respectively.

Wheat MP (desi) Rs 2,050-2,650, Wheat dara (for mills) Rs 1,695-1,700, Chakki atta (delivery) Rs 1,700-1,705, Atta Rajdhani (10 kg) Rs 230, Shakti Bhog (10 kg) Rs 230, Roller flour mill Rs 890-900 (50 kg), Maida Rs 970-980 (50 kg) and Sooji Rs 1,030-1,040 (50 kg).
Basmati rice (Lal Quila) Rs 10,700, Shri Lal Mahal Rs 11,300, Super Basmati Rice Rs 9,700, Basmati common new Rs 5,000-5,100, Rice Pusa (1121) Rs 3,850-4,850, Permal raw Rs 1,850-1,900, Permal wand Rs 2,050-2,100, Sela Rs 2,200-2,300 and Rice IR-8 Rs 1,600-1,620, Bajra Rs 1,535-1,540, Jowar yellow Rs 1,750-1,850, white Rs 3,300-3,400, Maize Rs 1,685-1,690, Barley Rs 1360-1370.
