Residents took to the streets at around 11:30 PM last night as they were frustrated over power crisis in the scorching heat. They broke the windows of a DTC bus and set it on fire and also damaged a car during the protest.
Two fire tenders were rushed to the spot which doused the flames. Senior police officials soon reached the spot with additional force and dispersed the crowds with mild use of force.
There were reports of minor protests in several other areas of the city as well over power cuts, police said.
