North East Literary Festival beginning tomorrow

Renowned authors Ruskin Bond, Upamanyu Chatterjee, Jerry Pinto and others are scheduled to attend the three-day North East Literary Festival titled 'River Talks' beginning here tomorrow.
The festival, organised by the Royal Group of Institutions and North East Writers' Forum, will showcase a gamut of literary activities including panel discussions by experts and various competitions among school and college students, according to a press release issued by the organisers of the Festival.
Five panel discussions on varied literary issues ranging from traditional publishing vis-a-vis electronic publishing, children's literature, fictionalising facts, north east perspectives, graphic novels and comics as tools for imaginative learning will be held.
The festival is scheduled to be attended by noted writers and academics like Geeta Dharmarajan, Preeti Gill, Ravi Singh, Sanjoy Hazarika, Shinie Antony, Jahnavi Barua, Mamang Dai, Bijoy Kumar Singh, Pankaj Thapa, Rashmi Narzary, Patricia Mukhim, Anuradha S Pujari, Bibhas Choudhury, Rakhee Kalita, Dhruba Hazarika and Shrutimala Duara among others.
The Inter-school and Inter-college literary competitions include debate, quiz, readings, extempore speech, poetry writing, poster making, street play competitions which will be held for students of north east and also from other parts of the country, the release added.
The festival will also hold book releases,meet-the-author session, movie screenings, cultural evenings and theatre showcases.
