North India witness pleasant weather

Delhi residents woke up to a pleasant weekend with maximum temperature recording at 33.0 degrees Celsius, one degree below normal. The minimum was recorded 25.7 deg C, again one notch below normal.

Monsoons hit the capital last week after missing the normal onset date of June 29.

However, according to the weather office, monsoon is expected to take a break from north-west region for the next few days.

Maximum temperature continued to remain below normal in Punjab and Haryana, though humid conditions prevailed in the region.

Chandigarh recorded a maximum of 32.5 degree Celsius, down by two notches below normal with a humidity level of 81 per cent, as Met office data.

Amritsar and Ludhiana recorded high of 34.2 deg C and 34 deg C respectively while Patiala had a maximum of 33.4 deg C.

In Haryana, Hisar recorded sharp drop in mercury as it settled at 33 deg C, down by 5 notches below normal. Narnaul had a high of 33.2 deg C, dipping by 4 degrees.

In Rajasthan, Jaipur and Bikaner and a few places in Kota division recorded light to moderate rainfall since yesterday.

Jodhpur division remained mainly dry till morning today, according to Met department here.

Few places in Northern and isolated areas in Southern areas of the state would receive rain during next 24 hours, a forecast said.
