Northern Command chief in Kashmir to review security situation

Army's General officer Commanding in chief of Northern Command Lt Gen D Anbu arrived here today on a two-day visit to review the prevailing security situation in Kashmir valley.
"The Army Commander along with Chinar Corps Commander Lt Gen J S Sandhu visited forward areas where he was briefed by local Commanders on existing security situation and the measures instituted to ensure close coordination with all government agencies towards maintaining vigil and peace in the Valley," an army spokesman said.
Expressing satisfaction over the synergy in the conduct of entire security apparatus, Lt Gen Anbu stressed on the need to continue the same and urged the forces to take necessary steps to ensure adequate domination and security of the lines of communication so as to keep them open and safe for the general public.

He is scheduled to visit forward areas tomorrow and interact with troops deployed on the Line of Control.
