Northern Command plans to develop eco green spots

Northern Command of the Army plans to develop eco-friendly green spots in Udhampur district of Jammu and Kashmir, Chief of Staff (COS), Northern Command, Lt Gen H J S Sachdev said today.
"The Army has always played an active role in Green Revolution in the country," he said after dedicating the Pachauri Park to the people on behalf of Northern Command.
Northern Command has conceived a plan in collaboration with civil administration to develop more eco-friendly green spots in Udhampur which will benefit a large populace including tourists visiting the city, he said.
The COS, who is a keen environmentalist, has initiated a number of eco-friendly developmental projects in Udhampur garrison ever since he took over in Oct 2012.
