Taking a defiant stand over the SYL canal issue, Deputy Chief Minister Sukhbir Singh Badal today said not even a single drop of water would be shared with any of the neighbouring states of Punjab.

Sukhbir stated this after paying obeisance at the sanctum sanctorum of the Golden Temple here along with his wife and union minister Harsimrat Kaur Badal.

Talking about the Sutlej Yamuna Link (SYL) canal issue, he said "Not even a single drop of water will be shared with neighbouring states of Punjab".

On being asked about warm relations between Chautala family of Haryana with the Badal family, he said that there was no alliance of Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) with Haryana-based Indian National Lok Dal (INLD) led by jailed leader Om Prakash Chautala and his son Abhay Chautala.

He said political alliance with INLD was broken long ago. Talking about the Delhi Sikh Gurudwara Management Commmittee (DSGMC) elections tomorrow, he claimed that elections will be won by ruling SAD as Manjit Singh G K, the serving president of the committee, would get a clean sweep.

He said this time SAD would once again be voted to power by the Sikhs of Delhi to serve the DSGMC.

Lashing out at PPCC chief Amarinder Singh, he said after polls, the former chief minister was at present in depression and shock, since he was going to taste severe defeat after the poll results.

He said people of Punjab would never prefer Congress since this party was responsible for mass killings during the anti-Sikh riots in Delhi in 1984.
