Shri Hemkunt Sahib Management Trust (SHSMT) has rebutted the claims of Punjab government that a team sent by the government along with its helicopter has evacuated 800 pilgrims.
Vice-chairman of SHSMT Narinderjit Singh Bindra today said the helicopter sent by Punjab government is parked idly at the Jolly Grant airport near Dehradun.
"The helicopter along with the team sent by Punjab government has been parked idle at Jolly Grant airport," Bindra told PTI over phone.
Officials who came with the helicopter went to Gurudwara Govind Dham by another chopper of the Indian Army, he said.
Four Birs (religious scriptures) of Guru Granth Sahib has been brought at Joshimath from Gurudwara Govind Dham by helicopter, Bindra said adding, as many as 300 pilgrims have been airlifted from Govind Dham today.
He, however, said that about 2,500 pilgrims are still stranded at Gurdwara Govind Dham.
