When asked about reports of his name doing the rounds for the Governor's post, Khanduri said "I have no information regarding this. I want to serve the people of my constituency for the next five years because this is what the people want and what I wish for."
"I do not find it appropriate to leave behind the wishes of the people who elected me to the Parliament and become the governor of any other place for my own convenience," he said.
Khanduri's reaction to the issue came amidst reports that the leader is set to become a Governor after he failed to secure a berth in the Modi cabinet at the Centre.
Khanduri has served as the Chief Minister of the state twice and was a cabinet minister in the Atal Bihari Vajpayee-led government.
