Not in touch with party MP Mithun Chakraborty: TMC
Press Trust of India Kolkata Following claims by West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee of purported "threats" causing Mithun Chakraborty to not be in touch with her, Trinamool Congress tonight said they have not heard from the party's Rajya Sabha MP for quite some time.
"There has been no official communication from Chakraborty," a TMC MP said on condition of anonymity.
"Recently, our party supremo (Banerjee) had herself said that Mithun has not been in touch with her and the party and central agencies (CBI) threatening him.
"It is clear from Banerjee's statement that he is not in touch with us," the TMC leader added.
Expressing apprehension that the powers in Delhi might unleash CBI against her for her comments against intolerance and threat to communal harmony, Banerjee had said in Kolkata on November 26, "If you say anything against them, they will engage CBI after you but you can't shut my mouth by engaging CBI after me.
"They have threatened Mithun Chakraborty in such a way that he can't even talk to me. He is an MP of our party.
