Assam Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi today said "multiple apprehensions" have emerged on account of keeping secret the details of the Naga Peace Accord.
"It would have been helpful if details of the recently announced peace accord are published. The issue of not making public the details has led to multiple apprehensions," Gogoi said after hoisting the Tri-Colour on the 69th Independence Day.
"I want to assure you that I shall not allow any infringement of our constitutional boundary of the state under any circumstances," he said.
He, however, welcomed the development of signing the agreement between the NSCN(IM) and the union government.
"It is also one of the sincere responsibilities of my government to maintain peace and cooperation with neighbouring states and ensuring the safety and security of the people living along the state border," he said.
He also appealed to the central government to complete the border fencing works expeditiously and guard the international boundary more effectively to stop the illegal influx into Assam.
