An official communication was sent by the DU Registrar to all faculty, directing them to start preparations for the implementation of CBCS from the upcoming session.
Reacting to it, the varsity teachers had alleged that the University decided to go ahead with the introduction of CBCS apparently without the mandate of the executive council.
However, the varsity authorities today said it is in process of complying with the norms.
"The implementation cannot happen unless the EC accords approval to the draft ordinance that the AC has proposed and this is in the process," DU Registrar Ram Dutt said in an official statement today.
"In the interim, all Heads of the Departments have been asked to take cognizance of and send their suggestions, as sought by the UGC, on the syllabi that have been proposed by the UGC. The University is well prepared for the transition. Hence, the question of violating any statutory provisions does not arise.
