Not wanting to skip marathon, man to tie knot at finish line

Irrespective of the position Anant Trivedi secures in the half marathon run on February 5 here, he would find Kavita Batra waiting for him at the finishing line with a wedding garland.
Trivedi (31), an engineer, who owns a restaurant in Bengaluru had got an invitation to participate in the 8th AU Jaipur half marathon. As his wedding date was clashing with that of the half marathon, the couple decided to exchange garlands at the finish line.
"I and my fiance both are runners. She cannot participate at the marathon due to an injury. We decided to exchange garlands at the finish line. It will also be message for the society to run for good health," Trivedi told PTI.
A total of 25 close friends of the couple will be present at the at half marathon to be privy to it. The couple will then tie the nuptial knot as per hindu tradition the same day in Kota from where Trivedi belongs to.
Trivedi got his engineering degree from a private college in Jaipur and had met Kavita in New Delhi. She is currently employed with a software giant and they both are settled in Bengaluru for the last three years.
Trivedi has, till now, participated in three full marathons and four half marathons. In November last year, he had cycled from Bengaluru to Jaipur to raise money for differently-abled children.
In 2013, he had finished fourth and fifth in all-India cycling championship held in Jaisalmer and Shimla respectively.
