Kerala Assembly speaker G Karthikeyan today said nothing incriminating against Congress MLA A P Abdullakutty has come before him warranting action.
He was responding to reporters' queries on the complaint filed by solar scam accused Saritha Nair against Abdullakutty alleging that he had molested her.
"There is nothing before me that requires action. Speaker cannot act on basis of media reports", he told reporters here.
To a question, he said there was no hurdle before Abdullakutty in actively taking part in assembly proceedings.
Chief Minister Oommen Chandy had stated yesterday after the MLA met him at Kannur that a person cannot be seen as guilty just because an allegation has been made.
He had also said the law would take its own course and a person cannot be treated as guilty just because an allegation has been made against him.

Saritha, out on bail in the solar scam, had given her statement under CrPC 164 before the Judicial Magistrate here on June 3.
She had lodged a sexual harassment complaint against Abdullakutty in March this year.
Saritha, one of the two accused in the solar scam, had alleged that the Congress legislator used to frequently call her on phone and even invited her to a hotel in Thiruvananthapuram.
Abdullakutty has dubbed the charges as baseless.
