Superstar Shah Rukh Khan says he does not thinkhe was being "targeted" by the government when summons were issued by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) over alleged undervaluation of shares of his co-owned IPL cricket team, Kolkata Knight Riders.
The 50-year-old "Chennai Express" star sees nothing illegal in the notice.
"It's nothing illegal," he said when asked about some people's opinion that he was targeted in the case.
"The notice was issued in 2010. And it is 2015 now. This government was not in power at that time. No need to say that I am targeted. Everything is happening under normal legal course and Ireply in normal legal course. There is no illegal thing. Those who don't know that the notice issued in 2010, they are only saying these things," the actor said in an interview to a TV channel.
ED is investigating whether the shares of the team were allegedlyundervalued as it could be violative of the provisions of the Foreign Exchange Management Act (FEMA).
Earlier, the ED had served a notice to Shah Rukh in May, but the actor did not appear before it.
In 2011, he was quizzed for allegations that KKR had received illegal money transferred from certain tax havens abroad.
