Playboy, as the first Hebrew version of the popular men's magazine was launched today.
Playboy has been widely available in Israel for years but this will be the first Hebrew version of the magazine with articles by Israeli writers and will feature Israeli models.
Playboy founder Hugh Hefner today lauded Israel as a country sharing the core values of his magazine in a pre-recorded message at the launch of Playboy Israel, the first Hebrew version of the magazine.
"I'm proud to see Playboy Israel embark on its mission to play an important role in strengthening freedom of speech, freedom of choice and freedom of the press," Hefner was quoted by the Jerusalem Post as saying in a message at the event in Tel Aviv.

The first version of Playboy to be read from right to left, which features an in-depth interview with Home Front Defence Minister Avi Dichter and racy photos of reality star Natalie Dadon, hits Israeli newsstands tomorrow.
"Playboy's been very successful all around the world, even with all the changes in the industry," Playboy Israel CEO Daniel Pomerantz, an American oleh from Chicago, said.
