The T-shirt, called Silic, is embedded with superhydrophobic nanotechnology, which uses microscopic structures to repel water-based liquids by forming a layer of air between the fabric and liquid molecules.
This causes the liquid to bead up into a 150 degree sphere and roll right off the shirt, avoiding unwanted stains.
Wearers of the Silic shirt do not have to worry about sweat stains, either. The shirt causes the sweat to evaporate into the air instead of into the fabric.
For the shirt's design, San Francisco-based Aamir Patel has teamed up with a former designer from Vera Wang.
"I want to pursue these relationships after the campaign is over and bring Silic to the world," he said.
The shirt is expected to be ready for shipping by May next year.
