If the Hungarian does agree to join, it will be his third stint with the Indian shooters having served them between 1998-2000 and 2004-2009.

"He has given us a few terms and conditions and we have forwarded them to the Sports Authority of India. It should be finalised by the month end. We are hopeful of having him on board again," NRAI secretary Rajiv Bhatia told PTI.

Szucsak, who has helped Beijing Olympic gold medallist Abhinav Bindra, in his formative years, will be looking after the junior shooters only as Stanislav Lapidus has been retained for the senior team, according to the NRAI.

After a four-year tenure, the rifle coach left before the Commonwealth Games to join Iran's shooting team.
