Commenting on the development, Amlani said: The Food Services Industry in India is the third largest service industry after insurance and banking...Instinct tells me that our industry is ripe with possibilities for growth on all fronts - especially where smaller, stand-alone restaurants are concerned."
The sector should be seen as infrastructure service sector instead of luxury sector, he added.
"My aim is to increase the number of members from 1,200 at present to 5,000 in next two years," Amlani said.
The association seeks to advocate changes in the laws governing the Indian Restaurant Industry at local, state and centre levels and also provides opportunities to educate members through seminars and knowledge platforms.
