A case was booked against Ramandeep Kaur's Australia-based husband Jasbir Singh, and four of her in-laws based on her complaint, police said.
They were booked under various sections of IPC, including for criminal intimidation, for seeking more dowry and duping the woman and her parents of lakhs of rupees, they said.
Kaur, resident of village Narangpur, alleged yesterday that her NRI husband Jasbir Singh(Australia), village Batala-based father-in-law Baldev Singh, mother-in-law Manjit Kaur, brothers-in-law Satwinder Singh (South Africa) and Palwinder Singh (Spain) duped her and her parents of lakhs of rupees under the garb, police said.
She further alleged that her in-laws, including her husband, took more than Rs 20 lakhs in different instalments under the pretext of settling her in Australia and her husband had also applied for spouse visa, but their demands continued to increase.

When her parents expressed their helplessness to fulfil their more demands, Jasbir, with the connivance of his family members, withdrew the application of spouse visa.
Police are investigating the matter but no arrest has been made so far.
