NRI injured after speeding car hits him

An NRI sustained grievous injuries when a car allegedly driven by 30-year-old man hit him in Lower Parel in central Mumbai early today, police said.
Driver of the car, Anup Pande, has been arrested while the NRI, Lucas Dellis, who was walking on the road when the incident took place has been admitted to a private hospital for treatment, a Mumbai police official said.
The incident took place around 5.15 AM near Phoenix Mill in Lower Parel.
"Pande, who was driving his car recklessly, knocked down Dellis while he was walking on the road. Three taxis were also damaged in the incident," the official said.

Police said they are waiting for the medical reports to ascertain if Pande was driving the vehicle under the influence of alcohol.
Further investigation into the incident is on.
