Speaking at the end of seventh edition of NSDC's bi-annual Partners' Meet, MD and CEO of NSDC Dilip Chenoy said there was growing interest in the skilling if youth in the country.
"This growing interest among other things shows the seriousness with which the Skilling Mission is being taken in our country. We concluded the two-day meet with great confidence of skilling 3.3 million youth this year," he said.
During the two-day event, NSDC also signed four Memorandums of Understanding with University Grants Commission, University of Pune, National Urban Livelihood Mission-Himachal Pradesh and Tamil Nadu Open University. The Uttar Pradesh Skill Development Mission signed Service Level Agreements with eight Sector Skill Councils within NSDC.
For the fourth year in a row, NSDC achieved the annual targets set.

In 2013-14, NSDC crossed its target and brought 1.05 million youth into the skilling eco-system. Including the number of people skilled under the National Skill Certification and Reward Scheme also known as STAR scheme to the total for 2013-14 brought it to 1.3 million.
National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC), which was formed under the Ministry of Finance, is a public-private partnership not-for-profit entity that includes 31 Sector Skill Councils and 136 training partners with over 2500+ training centres spread across 366 districts in the country.
