NSE plans data centre at Fintech Valley in Vizag

The largest bourse NSE is planning to open a data centre in Vishakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh IT Minister Nara Lokesh said here today.
"The NSE is talking of having a data centre in Vishakhapatnam," Lokesh told reporters, pointing to his discussions with the management of the bourse.
He said the country's third largest software exporter Wipro is also thinking of building its blockchain practise in the coastal city, which the state government wants to develop into a hub for financial technologies.
Lokesh was speaking at the concluding session of a two-day event on blockchain technology.
He said the government has earmarked 200 acres in its newly built capital Amaravati for the infotech sector.
Nine companies have already set up operations in the space, while 18 more have signed up, he said.

He said Rs 600 crore has already been invested in Amaravati and his government is expecting companies to invest up to Rs 300 crore more. This will lead to creation of over 10,000 jobs, he added.
Apart from this, HCL's Rs 600 crore investment plan in the vicinity of the upcoming state capital is also on track and when completed, it will create up to 11,000 jobs, he said.
Lokesh, who is also the minister for electronics, said Rs 1,000 crore has been invested by companies manufacturing cellphones and consumer durables in the Tirupati region.
Dickson Furniture which is into technical textiles, has already invested Rs 100 crore to put up two production lines, while domestic cellphone manufacturers Karbonn and Lava will be opening shops by the end of the year.
Lokesh said Andhra is targeting to increase its share in the domestic cellphone manufacturing to 50 per cent from the present 20 per cent.
