NSFDC sanctions Rs 27.18 crore in last two years

State-run NSFDC in last two years has sanctioned Rs 27.18 crore and disbursed Rs 14.25 crore to many beneficiaries from scheduled castes to set up their own business and for other income generating activities.
Officials of National Scheduled Castes Finance and Development Corporation (NSFDC) informed the parliamentary consultative committee that the company has provide funds for financing 443 units of Poly House in Andhra Pradesh, West Bengal and for 1,855 units of E-Rickshaw in Bihar, Delhi, Jharkhand, Maharashtra, Uttar Pradesh and West Bengal.
NSFDC is a public sector enterprise under the ambit of Social Justice Ministry.
The 4th meeting of the Parliamentary consultative committee was held yesterday at Mysore under the Chairmanship of Union Minister Thawar Chand Gehlot, according to an official statement.
Social Justice Secretary Anita Agnihotri and CMD NSFDC Shyam Kapoor also participated in the meeting.
Delivering welcome address, Gehlot gave an overview of various welfare schemes of the Ministry and NSFDC.
He informed that NSFDC has 11 loan schemes and 1 grant scheme. Financial assistance is provided under the loan schemes ranging from Rs 50,000 to Rs 30 lakh to Scheduled Castes entrepreneurs for setting up their own business ventures through channel partners, the statement added.
