The Congress-affiliated NSUI protested against newly elected DUSU president Ankiv Baisoya of the ABVP for allegedly submitting "fake" documents to gain admission to the varsity while the AISA claimed he was enrolled at DU's College of Vocational Studies.

The National Students' Union Of India also submitted a complaint to Delhi University's vice-chancellor to take legal action in the matter.

Meanwhile, the Left-backed All India Students' Association claimed that Baisoya was enrolled at DU's College of Vocational Studies.

AISA's DU president Kawalpreet Kaur said, "Baisoya claims to have studied at Tamil Nadu while on the other hand the official website of Delhi University's College of Vocational Studies recognises Ankiv Baisoya as a student. How in that case is he claiming to have studied at TN University even as it has declared that the degree being circulated under his name is fake?"
In response to AISA's allegations, the ABVP said, "Baisoya had enrolled in DU for graduation in 2013 but left it midway to go to Thiruvalluvar University. He got his admission cancelled in 2016."
