NTPC CMD conferred with Lifetime Achievement Award

NTPC CMD Arup Roy Choudhury has been bestowed with the Lifetime Achievement Award for his outstanding contribution spanning over 14 years as head of leading public sector organisations.
The India Pride Award was presented to him by Finance Minister Arun Jaitley at a function held here, NTPC said in a statement.
During his career, Choudhury has worked both in private and public sector organisations. Speaking on the occasion, he gave the credit for his success and achievements to the teams of NBCC and NTPC.

HDFC Life launches cancer care product
* Private sector HDFC Life today launched a health plan that provides financial support on diagnosis of early or major stages of cancer.
"The plan is distinct from standard critical illness policies as it provides a fixed lump sum benefit on diagnosis of early and major stages of cancer, waives future premiums and also pays regular income on diagnosis for treatment of cancer," HDFC Life senior executive vice president Sanjay Tripathy said here.

"We plan to sell about 2 lakh policies in one year," he said adding the plan has an indexation option whereby the sum assured increases by 10 per cent every year.

Lycos to launch two wearable devices shortly * Lycos Life, a new vertical of internet search engine Lycos, today said it will be launching two wearable devices that serve as a single point of entry into users' digital lives for consumers in USA and India on June 8.
Suresh Reddy CEO of Lycos said the products in the form of a smart wristband and ring will be available for USD 124.99 (around Rs 8,000) and USD 59.99 (around Rs 3839) respectively.
These ducts allow users to live secure, communicative, healthy and efficient lives.
Lycos Life has the capability to intelligently sense individuals' everyday patterns and transfer this information securely and wirelessly to a phone via Bluetooth and it's 'Tap to Transfer' (T2T) communication protocol.
The wearable devices will also allow users to automatically monitor their activity, sleep, heart rate, incoming calls, and important notifications from their phone completely hands-free, Reddy told reporters here.
