State-run power giant NTPC on Wednesday said two of its units will begin commercial operations this month, enhancing the generation capacity of NTPC Group to 50,108 MW.

"Unit-2 of 660 MW of Mouda Super Thermal Station, Stage- II (2 X 660 MW) will be declared on commercial operation form September 18, 2017," NTPC Ltd statement said.

Besides, Unit-1 of 660 MW of Solapur Super Thermal Station (2 X 660 MW) will also be declared on commercial operation from September 25, 2017, it said.

With this, the commercial power generation capacity of NTPC would become 42892 MW and that of NTPC Group, over 50 GW or 50108 MW.

Earlier this week, its 40 MW out of 50 MW of Rojmal Wind Energy Project in Gujarat was commissioned.

Unit-2 of 250 MW of Nabinagar Thermal Power Project (4X250 MW) of Bhartiya Rail Bijlee Company Ltd (BRBCL), an arm of NTPC was also declared on commercial operation from September 10, 2017.
