NTPC's solar plant in Odisha starts operation

State-owned NTPC today said its 10 MW solar power plant in Odisha has started selling electricity.
"The 10 MW solar plant at Talcher-Kaniha (Odisha) has been declared commercially operational from today," NTPC said in a statement.
The power purchase agreement (PPA) has been already signed with Damodar Valley Corporation for the plant.
The Solar Photo-Voltaic plant is spread across 45.2 acres, with estimated project cost of over Rs 69 crore.
NTPC has four solar commissioned projects -- Andaman Solar (5 MW), Dadri Solar (5 MW), Ramagundam Solar(10 MW) and the presently commissioned Talcher Kaniha (10 MW).
With the Odisha plant, the installed capacity of NTPC has risen to 42,974 MW which includes 17 coal based, 7 gas based and 4 renewable plants.
