Public sector Numaligarh Refinery Ltd (NRL) has signed a 'procedure note' with Iceberg Capital for identifying potential customers and carrying out High Speed Diesel export related activities in Myanmar.
The "Procedure note for export to Myanmar" was signed by NRL General Manager (Marketing) B Ekka and Iceberg Capital CEO Anshuman Ghai here on May 16, an NRL release said today.
To begin with, it was proposed to export 500 MT of High Speed Diesel (HSD) on trial basis within three months using the services of Iceberg.
Iceberg Capital is a market entry, research, advisory and management consulting firm providing strategic market insights and management expertise with its head office at Yangon in Myanmar, the release said.
As the refinery was only 420 km from Myanmar and connected by NH-39 (or Asian Highway-1), export of HSD to the neighbouring country by tank lorry was a win-win situation for both the nations, it said.
NRL has already ventured into the Myanmar market by way of export of paraffin wax.
