Number 100 to be a little slower for a few days
Press Trust of India New Delhi Delhiites will have to cope up with a slight delay in response after making calls on 100, the emergency response number of Delhi Police on Friday and Saturday due to technical upgradation in the system, police said today.
"Due to technical upgradation at the central Police Control Room (PCR), the response from the 100 number may take three to four minutes delay as it will be handled manually," a senior police official said today.
The number will function on manual mode from 10 PM on Thursday to the same time on Saturday, he said.
According to the official, when somebody calls 100, the information is fed into the computer and then routed to concerned police unit within a minute.
During the system upgradation period, information will be noted down on a paper and it will take three to four minutes to forward it to the concerned department, police said.
