Nursery admissions:Delhi govt receives 50K online applications

The Delhi government has so far received around 50,000 online applications against 25,000 seats for nursery admission in private schools under Economically Weaker Section (EWS) category.
The nursery admission process in Delhi schools began from January 1 and will conclude on March 31.
While the last date for submitting the application is January 22, the first list will be out on February 15 followed by another list on February 29.
"Education Department has so far received around 50,000 online applications against 25,000 seats for nursery admission in private schools under EWS category.
"Several camps have been set up at the offices of MLAs to help parents fill up the admission form online," said a senior government official.
This year, government has introduced online registration for nursery admissions under EWS category.
The government has also fixed an upper age limit for admission to entry-level classes with the maximum age for nursery being set at four years and five and six years for pre-primary and class-I.
