Justice M Duraiswamy before whom a petition by the Federation came up today, issued notice, returnable by January 27 to NVH India Auto Parts Private Limited, an ancillary unit of Hyundai Motor Company.
He also issued notice to Government Pleader S Pattabiraman, appearing on behalf of Home Secretary, the SP Kancheepuram and Inspector of Police, Sripeumbudur and Yashod Vardhaman, Senior Counsel on behalf of the Company.
If the company succeeded in doing so the Union would be put to irreparable loss and hardship.They had started the stir for recognition of the Union, for humane treatment, adequate drinking water facilities and other demands, the union said.
The petitioner alleged that the workers were kept under camera surveillance all the time. There had also been many instances when the workers were abused verbally and physically by the South Korean Managers, the Federation alleged.

The Federation said though they were continuing the stir peacefully, the management was trying to break it with the help of the Authorities.
The company's counsel submitted that the strike call given by the Union was illegal and that therefore the prayer sought for by the petitioner cannot be granted
He sought time till Jan 27 to file a counter.
Counsel for Federation had given an undertaking that it would not indulge in any unlawful activity or create law and order problem during the course of the strike
But since the Union was continuing with the strike, the judge directed the Authorities, including Home Secretary, not to interfere with it.If the stir turns violent,takes the shape of disturbing Law and order or likelihood of disturbance to law and order at the instance of management,then it was for police to restore peace and prevent any unlawful activities.
"The action of the respondents 2 and 3 shall be monitored by the Zonal IG St. Thomas Mount, Greater Chennai," the judge said and posted the matter to January 27.
