Lawyers from Nyaya Bharti, governed by separate governing body led by former Chief Justice of India Justice A S Anand, provided legal aid, helped the undertrials to file the bail applications and also represented them in various Delhi courts, Rakesh Bharti Mittal,Co-Chairman of Bharti Foundation said in a statement.
"With the release of the first set of underprivileged undertrials, we have made a beginning towards reaching out to and assisting the under trials who are languishing in jails for minor offences," he said.
Bharti foundation is the philanthropic arm of Bharti Enterprises which provides free education to children across six states.
