NYPD busts car thieves who stole over 300 luxury vehicles

A band of 16 car thieves who allegedly stole over 300 luxury cars, including Bentleys and a Lamborghini, worth a whopping USD 15 million has been arrested in New York, police said.
The suspects stole cars the easy way - they got the keys, sometimes from unwitting owners who left their autos running while they ran into a store, other times by stealing them from car dealerships.
Sixteen of the 18 suspects were busted on Monday, New York Police said yesterday.
The thefts occurred in every borough except Staten Island, plus Nassau and Westchester counties, and Connecticut and New Jersey, New York Daily News reported.

The investigation started in Queens and will be prosecuted there, the report said.
