Jnanpith award-winning Malayalam poet O N V Kurup's collection of poems, translated into Russian, will be released in Moscow on September 20.
Kurup's 50 poems have been translated into Russian by the Institute of World Literature in Moscow and the collection is titled 'One Sun, One Sky, One Earth.'
"I am very happy to get this Onam gift from Russia," Kurup, who will be leaving for Moscow on September 18 to attend the release function, said.
Though Malayalam poems had been translated into Russian in the past, this was the first time that a collection was being brought out in Russian, he said.
The book opens and closes with Kurup's poems on Russia's legendary poet Pushkin. The introduction of the book is written by Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov.
Kurup would attend literary meets at the Pushkin institutes in Moscow and St.Petersburg and deliver a lecture at the Department of Letters at Moscow University during his 10-day Russian tour.
