The White House says President Barack Obama will meet with Saudi Arabia's Deputy Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman with the conflicts in Yemen and Syria among the topics of discussion.
Obama and the deputy crown prince are also expected to review Saudi Arabia's efforts to make its economy less reliant on oil revenues.
The crown prince has already met with members of Congress as well as Secretary of State John Kerry. White House spokesman Eric Schultz tells reporters aboard Air Force One he'll also meet with Defence Secretary Ashton Carter.
The visit also comes after the Senate passed legislation that would allow families of Sept. 11 victims to sue the Saudi government, despite Saudi objections. The bill sets Congress on a collision course with the Obama administration.
