With this service, a customer can open an account with the bank without any hassles, OBC said in a statement.
A customer needs to provide only his/her Aadhaar number and to scan one of his/her enrolled fingertips at biometric device available at branches, it said.
This will provide customer, a comfort to quickly open an account with online authentication of his or her Aadhaar number using e-KYC service of UIDAI, it said, claiming OBC is first public sector bank to offer this service.
Last month, private sector HDFC Bank also launched eKYC facility.
