The Odisha government on Monday named a seven-member search committee for the purpose of appointing a Lokayukta in the state.
The search panel will be headed by Justice Amitabh Ray as the chairman and six other members, an official said.
It is mandated to give names for the Lokayukta and other members within one month, he said.
Odisha was the first state in the country to pass the Lokayukta Bill in the assembly on February 14, 2014, after the same was passed in the Parliament in December 2013.
The search committee would enlist five persons for the Lokayukta chairperson's post and 15 others for Lokayukta Member posts, and recommend their names to the selection committee headed by Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik.
