"Do not always go by the feedback of the bureaucracy alone. You should have a mechanism to crosscheck directly from the people. I would appreciate if ministers make surprise visits and take prompt action," Patnaik said.
He said this while addressing the council of ministers meeting held here on the completion of one year in office of his 4th term.
Promising to work whole-heartedly in years to come, Patnaik said, "My government does not believe in slogans, but in actual delivery."
During the past three consecutive terms, Patnaik said the party and the government have focused on the key and basic needs of the people.

"Our approach to the process of development has been inclusive covering all sections of the society. Our government has been specifically attempting to address the needs of farmers, women, youths and the disadvantaged and marginalised section of the society," he said.
"Promote innovations, out of box thinking and new ideas to redress people's grievances," Patnaik suggested his ministers.
