Odisha Council of Ministers nod

The Odisha Council of Ministers today gave its approval to the supplementary statement of expenditure worth Rs 9829 crore for the 2017-18 budget ahead of the winter session of the Odisha Assembly scheduled to begin from November 28.
The approval was given at the Council of Minister's meeting chaired by Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik.
"The Council of Ministers approved the supplementary budget of Rs 9829 crore," Finance Minister S B Behera told reporters after the meeting.
The state's original budget for 2017-18 had an outlay of Rs 1,06,911 crore.
Behera said steps were taken to accommodate several public welfare schemes introduced by the state government recently and few others for which the Centre has curtailed allocation.
The supplementary budget would be placed before the Assembly on November 30 during its Winter Session, he said adding that the Appropriation Bill would be tabled in the House on December 12.
The Winter Session of the Assembly is scheduled to commence on November 28 and will continue till December 30.
