"The thrust will be on proper coordination between the central forces and state police in order to achieve success in anti-Maoist operations," said Marik, who visited the Malkangiri district.
Stating that the campaign against the left wing extremists needs to be stepped up, the police chief said the strategy against Naxals should also include development activities as a major component.
Emphasis should be on bringing back more and more Maoists and their supporters into the social mainstream, Marik said referring to the surrender of over 600 Naxals and their supporters in the district during the last month.
The meeting was attended by the senior officials of BSF, CoBRA and state police.
