Odisha experiences mild rain, heavy rainfall forecast on Jan 1

Most parts of coastal districts today experienced mild rainfall due to the well marked low pressure area over southwest and adjoining west central Bay of Bengal off North Tamil Nadu and South Andhra Pradesh Coast.
The system at 8.30 am today lay over West Central Bay of Bengal, a MeT office bulletin said forecasting rain/thundershower at most places in Odisha.
Warning of heavy rainfall at one or two places in coastal Odisha districts were also forecast in the next 24 hours.
While there was no advice for hoisting storm warning signals, the MeT office suggested fishermen to be cautious while venturing into the sea.
