Odisha govt approves Rs 15K cr investment in various sectors

Odisha government today approved investment of Rs 14,981 crore in six different sectors which will generate employment for 22,654 people, official sources said.
The state level Single Window Authority headed by Chief Secretary A P Padhi has in-principle approved Rs 14,981 crore investment in 13 projects.
The projects were committed by companies in the recently concluded 'Make In Odisha' conclave.
The major projects, which today received approval of the state government, include Adani Wilmar's refined edible oil mill with an investment of Rs 687.12 crore and employment generation potential for 2,150 people, BPCL's second generation (2G) Ethanol plant in Bargarh district with an investment of Rs 500 crore. This project is expected to create employment for 520 people.
Shyam Metalics & Energy Limited's proposal for setting up steel billets, bars & flat products at an investment of Rs 870.20 crore, with potential of creating employment opportunities for 1,373 people, also got the state government's nod.
NCL India Limited's proposal for power generation with an investment of Rs 11,783.8 crore also got the SLSWA's nod.
However, the proposal was sent for the approval of the High Level Clearance Authority headed by Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik.
Earlier, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik had formed an inter-ministerial committee under the Chairmanship of Industries minister Debi Prasad Mishra and a Task Force under the Chairmanship of Chief Secretary AP Padhi with Industries Secretary Sanjeev Chopra as Convenor on December 19, to expedite clearance of investment proposals.
