The notification issued by the director of mines under the Department of Steel and Mines, however, put only one iron ore block -- Ghoraburahani-Sagasahi East in Sundargarh district with a reserve of around 90 million tonne of iron ore, for auction in the first phase.
While auctions will be done as per guidelines listed under Mineral Auction Rules 2015, the state government reserves the right to decide the end use of a block.
Issuance of the notification also marked selling of the tender documents from today. The sale of documents will end on February 5, it said.
This block will be offered in the form of a composite license -- prospecting license (PL) cum mining license (ML).
