The CCTNS, to be available in Angul and Kendrapara districts, was inaugurated by Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik at a two-day IPS conference here.
Patnaik said full-scale implementation of the project would take place throughout the state by the end of the current calender year.
The state government is planning to train 25,600 police personnel on the system, Patnaik said about the project which would make policing more transparent by automating the functions of police stations and improve delivery of citizen-centric services.
"Police officers must be trained so that they are able to take full advantage of the latest technologies for tracking criminals and bringing them to book," Patnaik said.
The project would link one DIG office, two SP offices, six SDPO offices and 33 police stations and two police control rooms located in the two two districts.
The State Crime Bureau is currently monitoring the project and BSNL would provide the internet facility.
